Healthy Choice Recipe Series - Cracked Wheat Khichhadi

A quick and healthy recipe using cracked wheat and barley. 


Cracked wheat (2 cup)
Barley (1 cup)
Quinoa (1/2 cup)
Lentil of your choice such as Tool Dal or  Moong Dal (1 cup)
Turmeric powder (half to one tea spoon)
Salt to taste
Ghee (1 tsp)
Garlic whole (2 cloves) 
crushed tomatoes
Coriander leaves (a small bunch)
Broccoli (2 cups)
Green peas (1 cup)
Whole black pepper (3 or 4 whole pieces)
Mixed vegetables


Add all ingredients in a pressure cooker. Add 10-12 cups of water, bring it to boil and let it cook in pressure cooker with lid closed. It should take 12-15 minutes to fully cook. Allow the pressure to release steam before you open the lid. Saute it in oil or ghee with dry red chilli, coriander seeds and mustard seeds. Your meal is ready to serve.
